The Lehigh Valley has added jobs at triple the rate of Pennsylvania since 2000, and over the past year no other region in the state has added positions at a faster clip, according to data to be released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
In August, the region was home to 340,600 jobs. That's an increase of 2.1 percent, or 6,900 more jobs than a year earlier. By contrast, the state of Pennsylvania added 0.9 percent to its job total over the past year.
