If you're shopping for a house like I am, you did a little jump for joy after seeing this headline in today's paper. More below:
The average price of an existing home in the Lehigh Valley fell last month for the third time this year, while the number of homes sold fell for the 16th consecutive month.
At the same time, the number of homes coming on the market rose 11 percent in September, according to statistics from the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors.
Prices for existing homes in Lehigh and Northampton counties fell 1.8 percent in September to an average of $217,000, compared with the same period last year. The number of homes sold fell 18 percent, year-over-year.
Home prices in the Valley have likely reached their peak for the year. The monthly market report the LVAR released this week shows average home prices in September fell compared to August.
September's results show a strong continuation of the slowing trends that began last year. The outsize increases in prices and the fast pace of sales that became common during the boom years of 2004 and 2005 are now a thing of the past.

This person will coordinate all aspects of the Pride of the Greater Lehigh Valley Volunteer Program. The ideal candidate shall have good organizational skills as well as the ability to work with the community and a growing list of volunteers from varied backgrounds. This is a great opportunity for a creative person who has the desire and dedication to re-vamp and energize the volunteer program. This is a volunteer position only and a great way to help to the LGBTI community.

HBP also includes the Colonial Industrial Quarter, which is the home to the 1761 Tannery, the 1869 Luckenbach Mill, the 1750/1761 Smithy and the 1762 Waterwoks- a National Historic Landmark.

Girls Night Out Tonight at TC Salon
Successfully launched in 2006 at TC Salon-Spa in Bethlehem, PA in 2006, Girls Night Out (GNO) to help fight domestic abuse is slated for more than 30 salons and spas across the U.S., from Arizona to Florida, California, Pennsylvania, Texas, and more, Thursday, October 4, 2007.
Each Girls Night Out (GNO) event raises money and awareness for 501c3 shelters and early intervention programs across the U.S. that serve women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. Admission to the GNO includes a cornucopia of tasty nibbles and beverages donated by local restaurants & businesses, salon and spa services for those who wish to indulge, information on Cut it Out, a program designed to train salon and spa staff members to identify victims of domestic abuse, a chance to win door prizes, shopping, entertaining, decorating, and organizing ideas provided by Southern Living At HOME Independent Consultants.
